Transfering frm XAMPP to Local

Issue Summary

Elementor help have said I need to copy my site from the local XAMPP on my computer to LOCAL so they can see it. I tried to set it up but the LOCAL site shows a virgin WP site and not my site. How do I migrate from XAMPP?

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?

Security Reminder

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular? I ONLY HAVE 1
  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser? YES
    Most recent version as only set it up yesterday!

If I understand your goals correctly, you’re wanting to import a site into Local.

Have you reviewed this help doc?

In order to import a site into Local you need a wp-content folder and a sql database dump folder.

In that doc it explains how those can be obtained!
