Great tip thank you @Oussama_Khb!
Hello! I am having the same issue. it keeps giving me these two pop-ups
I have switched off the host fileās read-only option, and I have switched off my Kaspersky Web Protection, and I put Local WP in itās trusted applications as a just incase.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Local. I have changed the router settings back and forth. I have no idea what to do.
Here are my logs aswell
local-lightning.zip (1.9 KB)
If i do change my router to local host, it still will not open the website and says this:
This site canāt be reached
localhost refused to connect.
Try:
- Checking the connection
- Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
Check your internet connection.
Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.
Allow Opera to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
If you use a proxy serverā¦
Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you donāt believe you should be using a proxy server: Go to the Main menu > Settings > Change Proxy Settingsā¦ > LAN Settings and deselect āUse a proxy server for your LANā.
When you get that first Host Redirection
pop up do you click on it? If you click on it it should give you a second pop up where you can allow Local to proceed. If youāre not seeing that then something may still be interfering.
Do you have any antivirus, security, or firewall applications that could be blocking Local?
Are you running other developer applications simultaneously? That could also cause similar issues. Apps like MAMP, XAMPP, or Docker for example.
I have clicked on it multiple times but it does not give another pop up.
I do not have any antivirus on at the moment and I do not have any developer applications running.
Are you running Local as an administrator?
Is this a personal device or company issued hardware?
Itās tough to say for sure but something is preventing that pop up and Local to proceed. Either permission or another application.
Yes, I am running it as administrator and it is a personal device.
But I did figure it out, so basically my Kaspersky still did not view Local as a trusted app, even though I added it.
So what I had to do was go into the Kaspersky app, go to the cog wheel at the bottom left corner, scroll down to āAdvanced Threat Protectionā and toggle āApplication Controlā off.
Now everything is working perfectly as far as I can tell.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing that detail @AnnerieLessing glad to hear all is working smoothly now.
