Unable to establish database connection

For some reason I am getting this error when trying to access my site. I had spent quite a lot of time building it and I’d be really gutted if it’s been broken for some reason!

I am also getting the error ‘connection refused’ when trying to access the database via Adminer…

I’ve not performed any updates and the problem persists after restarting Local.

I am developing this site for a client so it is quite urgent.

I think this could have been to my machine having to restart without proper shutdown recently. There is no app/sql directory for this site… is there any way to restore the database?
