Please can you try the steps in this thread to force Local to download a fresh copy of WordPress 6.5?

Sorry that Local is freezing when adding WordPress, @Kendrix. Please could you try these steps? Quit Local and restart your machine. Open the Finder and choose Go → Go To Folder. Paste ~/Library/Application Support/Local/cached-wordpress and press Enter. This should open a Finder window showing cached versions of WordPress: [cached-wordpress] Delete all wordpress-*.tar.gz files in that folder. Open Local.
