After export > import, images not showing anymore. Looking for a fix?

I recently decided to transfer a website I’m working on from my laptop to my desktop. I exported the site as a .zip file from my laptop and imported it into LocalWP on my desktop.

However, after the import, all images are missing from their containers etc, even though they still appear in the WordPress media library.

At first, I suspected a glitch during the export process, but after several attempts, the issue persists.

Could this be a database issue, or has WordPress/LocalWP somehow lost the image paths during the transfer? Any advice on how to resolve this?

For reference, I’m using a MacBook Air M1 (macOS 12.7.5) and an iMac Pro (Xeon W CPU, macOS 13.6.7), both running LocalWP version 9.0.5+6706.

I’m using OceanWP (free) theme and Elementor (free) plugin. I have some custom CSS here and there.

Thanks!

Hi @BagelBrown

Ocean and Elementor both retain cache and CSS changes and sometimes need to be “flushed”. So I wonder if that could be part of the issue here.

Alternatively, if that doesn’t help, as a test I would check and see if manually importing the site yields a better result than the native zip import.
