BackupBuddy and wpcron issues still happening

[UPDATE]I discovered my updates via Local weren’t actually updating. I did a manual update (had to rename old file in the process), and updated Local. As a result, I believe I’m having success - finally! I’ll let you know if I’m having any other problems.

Hello, I’m having issues with BackupBuddy and Local working together right now. Since I’m not a programmer, I’m having issues with resolving the problem.

Here are all the updated versions I’m using:

Local by Flywheel: Version 2.2.4
BackupBuddy: Version 8.3.1.1
Wordpress: Version 4.9.8

I’ve disabled all plugins on both the Local site and my live site, except BackupBuddy.

I’m running SSL on both sites, but don’t know how to disable it on either of them.

I’ve followed these instructions from a previous thread without any luck:

"Please try the following:

  1. Right-click on the site having trouble
  2. Go to “Open Site SSH”
  3. Run apt-get update && apt-get install -y ca-certificates
  4. Retry the BackupBuddy backup"

Here is the message from BackupBuddy log:

*** POSSIBLE ISSUE ***
----------- ------- ------- * ABOUT: BackupBuddy uses WordPress’ scheduling system (cron) for running each backup step. Sometimes something interferes with this scheduling preventing the next step from running.
----------- ------- ------- * POSSIBLE FIX: If there are delays but the backup proceeds anyway then you can ignore this. If not, you will need to narrow down the problem first.
----------- ------- ------- * MORE INFORMATION: Narrow down the problem: Check “Server Tools → wp-cron.php Loopbacks” for more info. Run BackupBuddy in classic mode which bypasses the cron. Navigate to Settings: Advanced Settings / Troubleshooting tab: Change “Default global backup method” to Classic Mode (v1.x). If either of these fixes it, another plugin is most likely the cause is a malfunctioning plugin or a server problem. Disable all other plugins to see if this solves the problem. If it does then it is a problem plugin. Enable one by one until the problem returns to determine the culprit.

Please advise! I need to get my site migrated over. I’ve used BackupBuddy before on someone else’s site without issues.
