Cannot establish MySQL connection caching_sha2_password

I can’t seem to connect to MySQL for each local site using PHP RAD and am receiving the error:

“Authentication method ‘caching_sha2_password’ not supported by any of the available plugins.”

I’m struggling to figure this out. Can anyone provide any guidance on how to configure Local site databases with PHP RAD?

Hi @jgparks,

The default authentication method in MySQL was changed in MySQL 8.

You may want to try Local Beta 5.2, create a new site with MySQL 5.7, and see if the issue persists.
