'Can't connect to MySQL server on '::1'

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I can’t start any sites that I previously created in Local, and I can’t create a new ‘blank’ site. I get the same error message that Local 'Can’t connect to MySQL server on ‘::1’. Everything was working fine yesterday.

I have checked that the hosts file is not read-only. There is anti-virus on my computer but Local was previously cleared to run by the IT Department in my organization.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

If I try to create a new website in local (or start an existing one) I get this error:

System Details

    Version 9.1.0+6719
  • Operating System (OS) and OS version:

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Can you try checking your Task Manager and see what is running in there? You might need to kill any additional processes.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your reply. I had seen that suggested in other similar posts, but there weren’t any extra Local processes running. The problem has mysteriously resolved itself since in any case, hopefully it won’t crop up again.
