Issue Summary

Is there a way to install additional versions of PHP to select from inside the LocalWP site options?

Troubleshooting Questions

It’s not a problem really. I just need the additional functionality.

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser? Yes

Describe the steps that others can take to replicate this issue:
Try to select PHP 8.0.5 inside LocalWP. The option doesn’t exist.

  • Which version of Local is being used? 5.10.4

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?
    OSX Big Sur 11.3.1

  • Attach the Local Log. See this Community Forum post for instructions on how to do so:

I also have this question.

Right now there isn’t a good way to get new versions of PHP into Local easily. Because the various lightning services have to manually be compiled for all the OSes that Local supports (mac, windows, linux)

Note: A service is what Local calls a bundle of server software and configuration, for example php 7.4.1 or nginx 1.16.0 .
