Due to modern browsers stopping the connections when I try to use the view site button I get a
privacy error with
NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
I think this is because the site is self-certfied.
This effectively makes the site unviewable is there a way around this?

Yup! Here’s what you can do:
Note: This won’t work for Firefox. You will need to add the certificate exception manually.
- Go to the site’s “SSL” tab in Local
- Click “Trust” and enter your password
- Refresh the site in your browser. In some cases you may need to restart the browser.
