SEO Title and Description duplication, both with Yoast and Rank Math. If I amend either the Title or Description in WP Admin all Titles and Descriptions are the same. Descriptions are only visible when selecting the ‘Meta Desc.’ title, otherwise the column is blank. SEO shows correct info when page source is viewed.
What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc
Clean WP install with default 2025 theme, no plugins installed.
Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
You might check that you are running the correct Local version for your system. After the last release there were a lot of users who found Local to be slow and were using the Intel version as opposed to Apple Silicon. More on this here:
Thanks for your reply. Yes it was loading the old version, but after manually updating Local it was working correctly again. (I should have know better!) Thank you.
However I am still getting duplicate Yoast meta titles and descriptions. Default Twenty Twenty-Five theme and just the Yoast plugin installed. I’ve never seen this before so not sure what else to try.
It looks like it has come up a couple of times in their support forums but I’m not seeing any specific resolution here. They are saying it could be a theme or plugin conflict but if you’re just using a default theme and Yoast then that’s curious.
Did you mention that you’re using Yoast and Rank Math both? Or have you tested with just using one or the other?
Yes, I just have one theme (Twenty TwentyFive) and one plugin (Yoast). RankMath appears to work OK.
Unfortunately for me I had created a couple of projects in Local and cloned these to the live server before I noticed the Yoast error. (My clients both preferred Yoast to RankMath). So I had to create a clean WP install in MAMP, export all the posts, pages, theme settings etc, then clone it back.
I’ll see if I can get any answers direct from Yoast support, and if so I’ll update this thread.
