Err_connection_refused after installing local

Hi there!

This beautiful morning I installed local and immediately after that everything went to hell.

The Err_connection_refused started in every computer in my house and only on my wifi network. Not on my Verizon hotspot…

I have cleared cookies, switched browsers, flushed dns, and nothing seems to do the trick. I have also put local in the trash.

My whole house is also being affected by that. Everything that requires internet is not working…TVs, alexa devices, cameras, you name it. Let’s say my husband is not liking me very much right now lol.

Any words of wisdom? Thank you friend

You have a larger issue and should probably start troubleshooting from the top down.

First step is to figure out why your wifi isn’t working. This doesn’t have anything to do with Local.

Hi there Clay! I see that you are an expert at fixing this issue.

This beautiful morning I installed local and immediately after that everything went to hell.

The Err_connection_refused started in every computer in my house which is sooo odd and only on my wifi network. Not on my Verizon hotspot…

Hey @pattyzinha100 – I’ve moved this reply to this topic so that we can keep the communication focused to the issue you are experiencing!

Local shouldn’t be causing the issues you are describing so it’s likely a coincidence that the rest of the network stopped behaving correctly.

That being said, happy to help! Can you describe in a little more detail the setup of your network? Is the computer that you installed Local on any sort of custom computer – for example, does it act like a network gateway or in any way dictate how other computers connect to the internet? What kind of computer is it?

Can you also provide a screenshot of the entire browser when you are seeing this error? Is it the same error for all devices, or does it look slightly different on each machine?

Can you also tell us a little more info about the site that was created when things started to go crazy?

Let us know a little more about what’s going on and we should be able to help point you in the right direction.
