ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED http://localhost:10018/?username=root&db=local

What issue or error are you experiencing?

From Local > Selected Site > Database > click “Open Adminer”, the URL http://localhost:10018/?username=root&db=local opens and displays an error ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

The WordPress site loads fine though.

There’s a similar issue mentioned here which has no answer.

Help appreciated.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @SRD

We would be happy to assist with your Local troubleshooting! Could you provide some more details to help us take a further look?

  • What is your OS?

  • What version of Local are you on?

  • Please attach a copy of your Local Logs

Keep us posted and we’d be happy to help further!

Hey @Nick-B

  • Windows 11
  • 7.1.2+6410 (can you submit a feature request to make this version selectable/copyable so we can paste it easily into tickets, please?)
  • local-logs.zip (65.7 KB)

can you submit a feature request to make this version selectable/copyable so we can paste it easily into tickets, please

I’ll check with the team on this!

Regarding your issue, is it happening for one site? If you create a new, blank site in Local can you access Adminer or is it happening no matter what site you check?

Are you running other developer applications simultaneously? Apps like MAMP, XAMPP, or Docker for example.

Creating a new blank site with default options produces an error:

%%resourcesPath%%\lightning-services\php-8.1.9+8\bin\win64\php.exe"’ is not recognized as an internal or external command

C:\Users\steve\AppData\Local\Programs\Local\resources\extraResources\lightning-services\php-8.1.9+8\bin\win64\php.exe does not exist

C:\Users\steve\AppData\Local\Programs\Local\resources\extraResources\lightning-services\php-8.1.9+8\bin\win32\php.exe does

No

Did you start having issues after an update on Local or your machine? I know you’ve been around the forums for a while so I’m assuming things were working for you up until a certain point? Or are you using a new machine now?

Local says it was installed on the 27th of July in the Control Panel.

The current version is 7.1.2, which was released on August 8, 2023, so this must of been an upgrade since 27th of July.

No such problems were occurring before this date.

I’m downloading 7.1.0

I’m glad there were no problems before then. Do you want to try a downgrade and see if that works for you?

Rolling back to 7.1.0 cured both problems mentioned in this thread.

Glad to hear that version is working for you @SRD! The update to 7.1.2 mostly contained bug fixes for Local users connecting to WP Engine, so for now you could stay on 7.1.0 as long as there are no other conflicts happening and try updating again later when it won’t be a work stoppage for you or when the next release comes.

No problem @Nick-B, cheers
