Export website by transffering Local Sites from one PC to another

What issue or error are you experiencing?

My PC has crashed and won’t boot (This is unrelated to local), and I tried to export my website from
C:\Users\vanya\Local Sites\ to another PC with local on it. But the website never shows up in the list of websites on Local, so I made a new website and just replaced all of its files with the files from my website. After trying to launch the website there is a 502 error request error.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

By the way, if you need to see my website folder I don’t really care to post it online.

Hi @vanyamcr

Local sites have to be manually transferred. So if you install and log into Local on another machine it’s expected behavior that your sites wouldn’t appear over there.

One thing you could do is use our Cloud Backups feature which would make it easier to pull sites down on a second machine.

Cloud Backups

Otherwise you’d have to manually create a zip backup using our native export feature or a plugin like WP Migrate Lite, and then send those zips to the new machine to re-import.

So there is nothing I can do?

Sorry I may have misunderstood the issue. Reading over your post again it sounds like you successfully got the site moved over but now it’s giving you a 502 error?

If you create a new, blank site on the new machine does that also throw a 502 error?

Do you have any antivirus, security, or firewall applications that could be blocking Local on this machine?

Are you running other developer applications simultaneously? That could also cause similar issues. Apps like MAMP, XAMPP, or Docker for example.
