Exporting Localwp site onto Bluehost

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I’ve created a Wordpress site on my computer using localwp and I tried both All-in-One Wordpress Migration as well as UpdraftPlus to re-create the same website onto my Bluehost server. I tried to do so using the migration and backups options; both have failed. In the end, the site ends up missing a lot of images and looks very broken. What is the best way to recreate the exact same localwp site that’s on my computer onto Bluehost?

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @fritze69

You could try a manual migration using Bluehost’s documentation here:

https://www.bluehost.com/help/article/wordpress-manual-migration

That said, your statement here has me thinking there could be some different issues at play:

In the end, the site ends up missing a lot of images and looks very broken

After migrating the site you might have to do some maintenance pieces to help clean up things like mixed content, cache, permalinks, etc.

Thank you for your recommendations… I will be back working on the site this week and will try your suggestions…
