Failed to obtain access token - can't log in to Local

Issue Summary

I can not log in to my Local account on my desktop app, I get an error of: Failed to obtain access token, Whoops!

We encountered an error while trying to log you in."

Troubleshooting Questions

I can still use Local and my sites locally, but now I have no access to the Live Link feature unfortunately.


This problem has been written by 4-5 fellow users, but I could not find the solution in those threads.

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used?

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?
    Mac os Monterey (12.5.1) (114.9 KB)

Security Reminder

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
