Fatal Error - Memory Exhausted

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Memory size allocation error

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Simply have to try and edit a page. So, it is a memory error and I am sure there must be a setting I need to adjust as this does not happen on the live site. I hear tell of a set of instructions for this but so I have not come across it.

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @enews! It’s possible that something on the site is causing a memory leak here. There are a few ways you can go about troubleshooting this.

If you do just want to add more memory, you can find some steps at the bottom of our performance guide here on how to change this manually:

If you want to do some troubleshooting, you could click on Site Shell and run a command like wp plugin deactivate --all to disable all plugins and see if the error goes away. If it does, then you can turn the plugins back on one at a time until it comes back, and you have your culprit. If a plugin doesn’t end up being the source, you could also try swapping themes.
