Issue with Memory Allocation in Local on Mac - Need Assistance

Hello everyone,

I’m encountering a persistent issue with my Local setup on Mac. I’ve been trying to increase the memory allocation from the default 256MB to 512MB. I make this change using the terminal commands on my Mac. However, every time I restart Local, it reverts back to the default 256MB setting.

Has anyone else faced this problem? I’m looking for a solution that ensures the memory allocation remains at 512MB after restarting Local. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

You’ll need to physically edit the necessary file and then restart the site so Local can compile the changes. We have some details at the bottom of our performance help article below:
