First time Local user. Is this app really this buggy?

Issue Summary

Just installed the latest version Local on OSX 10.14.6 and created a brand new WP install. I migrated the live site from WPEngine into Local and I can’t even go to the WP Dashboard. I keep getting 502 Gateway errors or 503 errors. I tried changing PHP versions but either the 502 error happens or the 503 does.

I’ve also tried to import an export zip file backup of the site and Local says about 10 sql files cannot be imported and the site imports all messed up

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
This happens with any site I tried migrating to Local.

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?

Yes

I thought switching DesktopServer for Local was going to be a good idea. I’m starting to think I was wrong. Local has cool features but I’d rather have something that just works.

Retrieving Local’s Log File

Yeah it is that buggy. See my most recent post. I’ve been trying local on and off since v5 and it’s gotten way worse. Guaranteed time waster.

There’s only two reasons I see for this, poor development, or making sure this exact forum is filled to the brim with text mentioning “localwp”, for SEO purposes.

Which is it?
