Generating a compatible zip

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Using the directions here: Import a WordPress Site to Local

Any help would be great!

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Where is the zip file coming from? Sometimes the Local import can get confused if the zip file contains things like WordPress core files, full site backups, or database backups. If your zip files contain any of those it might be worth removing them and then trying again. Otherwise, you can try the steps in the article below to do a manual import:

All Local really needs to get a zip imported is a wp-content and SQL so you might unzip and pull out anything not needed like I mentioned above and try to hone it down to just the necessary files for import.
