Issue Summary

I have a dev site setup in local with the same url as our dev server, how do I deactivate locals host changes so I can view the dev site?

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used?

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?

    • For example: macOS Catalina or Windows 10 Professional

  • Attach the Local Log. See this Community Forum post for instructions on how to do so:

resolved by changing domain in local admin panel

This is usually what we recommend – having local sites use the .local top level domain so that you can still access any remote dev/staging/production sites while working.

So something like example.local set in the “Site Domain” field in Local.
