How are Blueprints stored?

How are blueprints stored? Are they an actual complete WP site, where your other sites are saved? Or some other kind of file structure where when you choose to create a new site, it uses this file to create new full WP site from?

Great question!

Blueprints are stored in the following path depending on your operating system:

  • macOS: ~/Libary/Application Support/Local/blueprints
  • Windows: %AppData%\Local\blueprints

In a nutshell, Blueprints are the same exact format as archives that are created by exporting sites in Local. These archives contain all site files (including WordPress), service configs, and a dump of the database.
