How to publish website on hosting service

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I have spent months designing a website using Local on my desktop and I am finally ready to publish it with a hosting service that I use for two other (non-WordPress) websites. I cannot figure out how to do this. A support technician with my hosting service did not seem familiar with Local and said it was unusual for someone to develop a website locally. Is there a tutorial or document of some sort that explains how to upload a Local-built website to a hosting service other than WP Engine? My hosting service offers WordPress hosting, but I can’t figure out which files to upload to what directories on the server.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Although our Local Connect feature only functions with WP Engine and Flywheel, there are several other ways to get your site out of Local and up to a host. It’s odd that they made a comment about local development being “unusual”. Even if they aren’t familiar with our product there are a hundred different ways to develop sites locally that are popular and common. If they do offer any kind of migration or uploading help, you can simply right-click your site name in Local and select Export and that will create a zip of your site files.

To go the plugin migration route, you could use something like WP Migrate PRO to move your site from Local to your host. Their guide below might help:
