Since you’ve been able to get this working for a different user, I don’t think there is anything that Local can do to get this working. It’s likely a system setting that is preventing this from working.
I’m not that familiar with macOS’s /Volumes
folder, but from the googling I’m doing, it looks like it’s the unix-y way that macOS is mounting various different partitions to the filesystem.
If I were to guess, the harddrive restore process set your user’s directory to one that was directly mounted in /Volumes
when it should be mounted at the more traditional /Users/username
This is such a specific issue to macOS, I would recommend either reaching out to Apple directly (for example, through the Genius bar) or just create a new user and let that be the profile you use going forward.
Of the two, I’d prefer the second option of creating a new user login and using that, mostly because that guarantees you are working from a real clean slate.
I wish I had more info for you, but it’s definitely an issue with some sort of configuration part at the OS level. Hope that helps get you pointed in the right direction!
