Import wp-content folder and local.sql from recovered Local Sites folder

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I had issues after MacOS Ventura 13 to Sonoma and lost my sites

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, I have managed to retrieve my Local Sites folder using data recovery app zipped the wp-content folder and local.sql file imported in LocalWP site name appears asks me for a password then deleting appears ?

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

To clarify here, you’ve located your Local site files and you’re trying to reimport them but they get deleted again when you reenter your password?

In order to refresh here and start with a clean slate could you give the below troubleshooting steps a try?

  • Make sure you have all the copies of your site files saved on your desktop or elsewhere

  • Fully uninstall Local from your computer.

  • Install the latest version of Local on this link.

  • Once installed, please restart the computer.

  • When the computer is restarted and turned on, close any applications that automatically run in the background (AntiVirus, Firewall, and other Developer applications included).

  • Check and see if the issue still persists. If so, please provide us with an updated log. Retrieving Local’s Log File

Followed your procedure … still no go … after installing Wordpress a quick message flashes up I think it starts with Importing … the goes into deleting mode ?

Is that when you create a new, blank site or try to import one of your previous sites?

new / blank works OK … import previous problem occurs

Can you try manually importing a previous site using the steps here?
