Did you delete your Local VM in VirtualBox at any point?

Hi clay,

No, it is there and the folder also, probably when the update of my local is lost or overwritten but everything is installed in the same place and the folders are still intact.

Hello,
I have the same problem but can’t get any of these solutions to work. In Local I rename files as suggested (e.g. mysite-backup), but then I can’t create a new site called mysite. I get the message: mysite is taken by another site. Please choose a different domain.
My site is in tact locally but I can’t get it back onto Local.
I have also tried: http://local.getflywheel.com/community/t/how-can-i-import-a-site-into-local-by-flywheel/636 and I can’t get this to work either - I am stumped, please help.

I have the same problem. The lack of a response is very revealing and has me considering other options.

Hi Clay! Look, I deleted accidentally VirtualBox and got this “Container is missing. You will need to restore this site from a backup or previous export.” All my files are in Local Sites and It seems ok. What can I do to get the things running again? I pushed the site to a connected live running with a password too.
Thanks a lot.

@cwbuff,

If you ran into this issue then it most likely means that you uninstalled VirtualBox or deleted the VM. Please see How can I restore a site from a Local site folder?

@aschneider, @Rosie,

Please see How can I restore a site from a Local site folder? as well.

Sorry for the trouble!

Just a heads up, in 2.2.1 and newer there will be a button to restore sites with one-click if you delete VirtualBox or Local’s VM in VirtualBox.

Thanks - I’ll take a look.

Im having this same problem but no solution seems to be apparent.
