Local.app deletes itself :D

  • I was just aksed by local.app to update from 9.2.8 to 9.2.9.
  • I clicked okay.
  • After the download I was asked to restart to finish the process.
  • After that the local.app was deleted by the installer.
  • A new version was not installed.
  • I had to download the local.app again and install it manually.

Bonus information:
local.app and many others of my apps are installed on an external drive, not in the applications folder.

Is everything working as expected now @meisterleise?

Local will always need to configure some of its infrastructure on the main hard drive, so this is likely the root cause of the issue. If you need to save space, you can try backing up and offloading sites to your external hard drive when not being actively worked on, but as far as configuration items those would be best to remain in place.

Yes, everything works fine, as it did before when started from the external drive. So this seems not to be a problem. But updating seems to be.
