Local is hanging while trying to add new WP Environments

Issue Summary

Local application states “Adding WordPress” but just seems to hang at this screen for quite some time

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
It is happening for about three sites that I am trying to create from scratch.

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    No

Replication

  1. Click on Add Local Site
  2. Click on ‘Create a new site’, click Continue
  3. Enter a site name, click on Continue
  4. Click on Custom, set PHP version to 8.0.22, set Web server to Apache 2.4.43, set Database to MySQL 8.0.16 - click on Conitnue.
  5. Enter WordPress username and password, click on Add Site
  6. States Provisioning Services…, then opens Windows 11 command line to setup Host Redirection, then states ‘Adding WordPress’ and just hangs at this stage.

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used?
    Version 6.7.1+6369

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?

    • Windows 11 Home Edition (64-bit) on MacBook Pro
  • Attach the Local Log. See this Help Doc for instructions on how to do so:

Security Reminder

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @chris_kzn

The error I’m seeing in your log is the same one Ben references on the thread below:

Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name

There is a lot of back and forth and troubleshooting on that thread, but Ben basically lands at only two possible workarounds at least for a “quick fix”.
