Hey @discount4me – The premium version of Local (Local Pro) was discontinued a while ago:

The various features that used to be located on the “Pro” tab now live in other places within the app. Most of them ended up on the “Tools” tab.

Is there a specific feature that isn’t showing for you or isn’t working in a way that you expect?

Hi Ben, thank you for picking up on my question. I recently returned to Local after a short hiatus. I was about to watch a YouTube video from <Websites 4 Beginners> which began talking about Local Pro going free. I had just upgraded my Local version and compared screens. The video was dated June 30, 2021, so I thought it was relatively up to date.

But there were discrepancies between his menus and mine. Hence my search to download Pro. But, I couldn’t find it on the Freewheel site. All I could find was the version I had already installed.

Your response has obviously cleared this up and I am grateful for your time devoted to answering me. One question you can maybe assist me with before I go. I want to create a custom post template in my root theme directory. Can I access this directory on my version of Local? If so, how do I access it?

Thank you again!

Sincerely, James

I’m glad you got things sorted out!

All the WordPress files are contained on your computer, but default under the ~/Local Sites folder.

You can quickly go to the folder for a specific site by either right-clicking on the site and selecting “Reveal in Finder” or click the arrow icon under the site-title:

From there, the theme for the specific site is in the typical location for WordPress, which is under:

sitename/app/public/wp-content/themes/themename

Hope that helps!

Hi Ben,

Thank you this was most helpful. I appreciate your kind assistance.

Best regards,

James
