Local wont start after upgrade

Just got a message there was an update available for local so I ran it. Now local wont start. I uninstalled it and downloaded latest version and ran install. Have the same issue. I can see Local if I look in task manager but it wont start. Is there a place to get older versions?

Hi @rrmccabe

You can downgrade your Local version with the steps here:

You can always find our older releases on this page as well:

If you’re still having trouble, could you provide some more details to us?

  • What is your OS?

  • What version of Local are you on?

  • Please attach a copy of your Local Logs

Keep us posted and we’d be happy to help further!

Thanks, I just found them. I uninstalled previous and installed one from the fall of last year and still wont start.

OS Is Windows 11
I am currently not on any version but will install the latest version again. Where do I find the logs?

Thanks

We have a Windows Troubleshooting guide below that goes over some common items worth checking. For example, make sure you’re running Local as an admin user, that you don’t have any security blockers, and that Local has access to update your Hosts file.

Your Local Logs can be found with the steps in the guide here:

Retrieving Local’s Log File

Here is my log. I am going through the troubleshooting stuff now. Thanks for fast response!

local-lightning-verbose.log (377.1 KB)

I have it working now. Everything was fine on the troubleshooting steps. So as I last ditch effort I uninstalled again and then went and deleted all the local directories I could find in various locations.( I think there was 5) Reinstalled the program and it took off.
