LocalWP doesn't open WP dashboard anymore

Hello everybody, :grinning:

I can’t access to my site anymore. I tried to find answers on the internet, but no way. Strangely, the WorPress version doesn’t appear. It looks like if LocalWP was trying to connect to the files, but it doesn’t find them.

  • This happens for all sites in Local

  • I created a WordPress site in Local and accessed it several times during the past days.

Many thanks for your help

Hi there, @Morrigane - welcome to the Local community! :wave:

Thank you for your question.

I see your site host is set to localhost:10008 which indicates your Router Mode is set to localhost.

Did you update that intentionally?

You may want to try updating your Router mode to Site domains to see if that helps (I would recommend backing up your site before doing this).

You can do that by navigating to Local > Preferences > Advanced > Router mode

Let me know!

Many thanks, Sam.

I see no tab “advanded” in Local. Do I have to create a new site?

I want to work on the site on my Mac, and later I’ll send them on the web. I thought Localhost was the right option.

Sorry, I’m a total beginner with WP and LocalWP. I installed the softwares thanks to explanations found on the internet.

Morrigane

I tried to uninstall and reinstall LocalWP. No way: when I open the newly installed version, I get exactly the same screen, with my old site and no tab to make any change.

SOS! :cry:

ok, I found the “preferences” tab. Please see my new screenshots

It looks like Local doesn’t find WP.

Many thanks

Hi @Morrigane! Looking at your Local Log the errors are indicating that there is no such directory for /Users/elisabeth/Desktop/Cooncept

Can you verify if any of the file pathing has changed on your machine?

Hello Nick,

Thanks so much for your answer. You’re right : I didn’t remember but I renamed the filde. So, now, i’ve got that: (with localhost) La connexion a échoué

Firefox ne peut établir de connexion avec le serveur à l’adresse localhost:10008.

Le site est peut-être temporairement indisponible ou surchargé. Réessayez plus tard ;
Si vous n’arrivez à naviguer sur aucun site, vérifiez la connexion au réseau de votre ordinateur ;
Si votre ordinateur ou votre réseau est protégé par un pare-feu ou un proxy, assurez-vous que Firefox est autorisé à accéder au Web.

Everything is working on my Mac, except Local lol

Hello again,
I don’t know what I did, but I was able to create a new site which works properly. I lost Elementor, but it’s nothing. Thus, I lost all the work I did on the first site, since I can’t find the files. As for this first site, I can’t open it: nothing changed.

Any idea about how I could retrieve the files of the first site (a lot of work lol)

Hi @Morrigane! I’m glad you were able to do some troubleshooting and get certain things up and running again. If the site files were removed from your computer, there isn’t much we can do to assist. They may still be there somewhere unless you’ve checked every corner of your machine. For future projects, I’d highly recommend setting up Cloud Backups to ensure your work is saved. Cloud Backups - Local

Thanks Nick! The file is still there, but I don’t know how to find it. What would be the extension? There’s a problem with the path.
