Migrating website from live server to Local by Flywheel

What issue or error are you experiencing? I am trying to migrate my WordPress website from a live server to my local machine using Migrate Guru. I am experiencing difficulties. I keep receiving this notification after I enter the migration key and then press the “migrate” button… (Failed to connect to your destination site http://localhost:10002. Please retry or contact support.). I am employing Migrate Guru because my website is over 1GB. A solution to this problem is greatlyappreciated!

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @Clifford

I’m not familiar with Migrate Guru but are you able to just make a zip export backup of the site with that? If not you could use a free plugin like WP Migrate Lite, and then you can just drag and drop that file into Local to start the native import process.

Or you can manually import the content and database using the steps here: Manually Import a Local Site
