My power went out when starting a local site, now I cant open local anymore

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I was starting a site on local and my power went out, after that I couldn’t open local anymore. I searched for the logs and saw that there is an error on my sites.json file, which is now corrupted, if i change the name of that file to sites-backup.json for example, local software starts normally but my site aren’t available.

There is a way to redo this file? I have all of sites created with local on my machine that I don’t want to lose. Can’t I add the sites that are already on machine to local again?

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Here is a print screen of my site.json.

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @peterdev, and sorry to hear about the power failure!

Yes, you can delete or rename sites-backup.json, then open Local and re-import your sites as described under “Restore from only Local site files” here:

After doing this you would need to recreate your groups manually, as it looks like the sites-backup.json was corrupted during the power failure.
