Not importing content

Issue Summary

Local is not importing the content from Local exported files

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?

We have tested this with multiple sites, and the results are the same. Export from local → import to Local, and the new site does not have any content but everything else, CPT plugins, etc.

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    Yes, creating new or empty sites is not an issue

Replication

Describe the steps that others can take to replicate this issue. If you have screenshots that can help clarify what is happening, please include them!

Take an existing Local site expert it and then import it.

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used?
    We have tested this on 6.4.3 and 6.4.2

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?
    Mac OS Monterey v12.5

    • For example: macOS Catalina or Windows 10 Professional
  • Attach the Local Log. See this Help Doc for instructions on how to do so:

Security Reminder

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

I want to make sure I understand - when you are referring to “content” not importing do you mean things like words & media files, your wp-content folder or otherwise?

A screen shared video if you’re able to make one would be helpful! Loom is a great way to record one.
