On Ubuntu 22.04. No local loging. Unactive links (Open Site...). WP works fine

Hello, Hi,

No local logging possible

All the links (WP Admin, Open site…) are inactive.

I can create a WP site and I can log me as WP-Admin :).

Only this url works: localhost:10003
On nginx or Apache, http://lwpfirst.local/ does not work (open Apache server screen with apache)

Note. I have a community.localwp account. Do we use the same account in the local app?
I try, but it does not work.

From the first installation. I have already reinstalled LocalWP and I have taken care with the logging, same trouble :).

System Details

  • Local Version: Ubuntu 22.04.4. on Gnome 42.9) and Wayland

  • Navigator: Floorp

  • Same troubles with Firefox

Soon on 24.04.1 :slight_smile: :rofl:

New troubles with LocalWP on Ubuntu guys!

Unable to get the Editor function in Plugins

image

The plugin All-In-One works fine.

I try to modify the MAX-FILE-SIZE but it does not appeart in the constants.php file of this plugin

In some tutorials it appears between these two line

// =================
// = Support Email =
// =================
define( 'AI1WM_SUPPORT_EMAIL', 'support@servmask.com' );

// ==================
// = Max Chunk Size =
// ==================
define( 'AI1WM_MAX_CHUNK_SIZE', 5 * 1024 * 1024 );

Sometime at the 282 line.

But with LocalWP, it does not appear.

The limitation is Maximum upload file size: 300 MB.

It has been a huge waste of time. :disappointed:
Perhaps, this version is not ready for Ubuntu-Linux OS?

Thank you for a quick feedback.

Hi @jrd10

So are you saying that Local works now when you downgrade to the previous version but it wasn’t working on the latest version? I’m just trying to clarify and sum up your updates here.

You don’t need to log into the Local profile icon unless you need to use Live Links or Cloud Backups. That doesn’t have anything to do with getting your sites to load or to get into your Admin.

Regarding All in One, I’m not sure about modifying the plugin, but if you need to edit any of your PHP settings for your Local sites you can do so by opening your php.ini file in a text editor and then recompiling the changes (Stop/Start). We have steps for how to do this on the bottom of our performance guide here:

If you’re just trying to move a site into Local, you could use the plugin WP Migrate Lite which is free. It will create a simple full site export zip file that you can just drag and drop into Local.

My apologies…

About the extension file editor

I think, I confuse with WordPress Multisite where the editor is in the network, not in the site interface

About my troubles on MAX FILE SIZE in All-In-One

the troubles come from the current version of All-In-One.
See this page using a previous version of this plugin

So, this both troubles does not come from LocalWP :).

Note that I transfer a website from LocalWP (Kadence theme) to OVH server.
This has worked from the first time.

Congratulations to your job, LocalWP Team :slight_smile:
(even if I am not able to make the interface working on my Ubuntu-Linux :slight_smile: )

No worries @jrd10

Btw if you’re working with multisites with Local we have a document here with some setup help:

If you have any other questions or concerns don’t hesitate to reach back out. We are always happy to help!

Sorry for my poor English. I have installed LocalWP several times.

I can create and develop a Wordpress website from URL like Localhost:100xx.

All the LocalWP interface buttons and links are inactive.
Even when I run LocalWP from my Hub account :).

Thank you for your time.
Many thanks for the WP Multisite document.
