One-Click Admin Asking For Password

Hi all,

Recent new user to Local having spent most of my time painstakingly creating development environments; oh the joy of linking to WP Engine and pulling down a working site in minutes.

That said every time I try and use the One-Click Admin feature it asks me for a password. The user list is populated in Local and the browser but no password.
As this is a development site from WP Engine should the user password be that of the online site or is it best to change the local user account?

Hey @AdamC, Welcome to the Local Community Forums!

Most of the time the one-click admin works, but I’ve come across a few sites that don’t allow me to auto-login.

Usually this is due to something within the site that is preventing the actual cookies from being set.

In any event, because the site has been pulled directly from the server, you can use the same credentials that you would on the remote environment.

Thank you for the response @ben.turner. Some how I had a feeling it could well be cookie based. I’m on a Mac running Big Sur so I’m guessing everything is going to be a bit of a hurdle with cookies and certificates :man_facepalming:

Yeah, I’ve run into that too. Things are getting more strict when all you want to do is just focus on making the site!
