Local Community

Only works when I startup machine in VirtualBox

I think this happened after I setup VVV on my computer but I’m not sure it is related.

Now I can only load local if I first open Virtualbox and startup the local instance.

Otherwise if I open up local it stays on the loading screen…

Any ideas? Thanks

Hey Elliot,

Can you try starting Local the normal way and then provide Local’s log file once it’s stuck on the loading screen.

Hey Elliot,

Looks like the last line in the log file is

Error setting up host only network on machine start: VirtualBox is configured with multiple host-only adapters with the same IP "192.168.50.1". Please remove one

You can fix this by opening VirtualBox and doing the following:

  1. Go to VirtualBox » Preferences
  2. Go to Network » Host-only Networks and remove any adapters you see there. They’ll be automatically recreated as needed.
  3. Re-open Local

I don’t see any host-only Networks in the prefs. See screenshot:

However, if I goto Settings for the specific local instance and then Network, I can see a hosts-only network listed under Adapter 2. See screenshot:

Any ideas?

Sorry about that!

It looks like you’ll want to go to Global Tools » Host Network Manager on VirtualBox 5.2+.
