Ques re where my WordPress files "server" is located in Local

Have been in touch with support for a plugin (Easy Digital Downloads) that I am using and they have advised that I can edit the “Your Account” template file. I did make it clear in my original post to them that I am building the website on my laptop using Local (Flywheel). They advised that I need to create a “directory” (by this I think they mean “folder”) in my active theme and copy the template file in question into there where I will be able to edit it. They went onto say that I will need FTP software (Filezilla?) and I will need to connect to my server where I will have direct access to the WordPress files.

When I have come to sit down and really think about this, my remote server (i.e., my actual hosting company – I already bought the domain name and will migrate the site when it is ready) obviously know nothing about the website I am building on my laptop in Local……so I won’t be needing Filezilla to connect to the files held with my hosting companies server…right??

However, the files in question MUST be somewhere….?? Just not sure, bearing in mind I am building this in Local, where?? Thinking this a pretty fundamental question really about the nature of Local. I MUST have a theme folder somewhere but not sure where to start looking.

Hope this all made sense. Many thanks in anticipation.
