The logs are still full of the same error with the dyld: Symbol not found:
message. Searching this on in the Forums here and turning up a lot of similar solutions to the above one I shared where updating the OS was enough to resolve this:
What issue or error are you experiencing?
I bought a new Macbook last week and I’m new to both WordPress and Local. So far, I do really like the Local server as it downloads and installs WP automatically. This is a terrific feature and saves me some trouble. However, I can’t access the WP dashboard unless I select php 7.3.5. My concern is that if I do any client work, I may need to be using a newer version of PHP.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a million!

For some users it looks like they had to try reinstalling PHP:
Every now and then, the Local team pushes out updates to the downloadable Lightning Services (PHP, MySQL, web servers, etc) in Local.
Reasons for these updates include config changes to better facilitate local development, adjusting PHP extensions, or general bug fixes/improvements limited to the scope of the service.
Local does not have a way to update Lightning Services in the UI so it must be done manually. (Note: we have plans to add a way to do so!)
