Stuck on Checking System

Windows 10 machine. Stuck on Checking System. Any help would out greatly.

Sorry for the trouble!

Is this a fresh installation? Was it ever working at any point?

Also, please make sure that there are no Local by Flywheel processes running and then relaunch Local.

This is a fresh installation. I’ve used an uninstall program just in case to get all files. Reinstalled and no luck. Restarted the computer after install also. I’ve also made sure that the program isn’t running either.

Hi Kelly,

Are you running Local from the Windows 10 Modern/Metro UI? This is the tiled layout that’s typically enabled when you go into touchscreen mode.

If not, how are you launching Local (desktop shortcut, start menu, etc)?

My computer specs. I’m starting the program from a desktop shortcut. The computer is a touch screen, but I don’t put it into tablet mode.

Can you two try the following?

Make sure Local isn’t running
Open VirtualBox
Right-click on local-by-flywheel and go to Close » Power Off
Re-open Local

In VirtualBox there are no local by flywheel option…

Thanks for the screenshot!

Are you getting stuck on the “Checking System…” screen? If so, can you provide the log file? You can find it by opening Local, clicking the menu icon in the top left, and then going to “Reveal Local’s Log.”
