Symbols Wrong On Duplicator Imported Site

Issue Summary

When I import a site using a package generated by Duplicator. Everything works perfectly but the symbols i.e “’” and “@” don’t work and instead strings of weird characters display.

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
    A: All

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    A: Yes

Replication

A: Import a site using Duplicator generated files.

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used?
    A: 5.10.3

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?

    • For example: macOS Catalina or Windows 10 Professional
      A: MacOS Big Sur

There was another topic here in the forums that had a similar set of issues related to different collations between the databases.

Can you take a look at this thread and see if any of the links help you diagnose and fix the problem?
