Issue Summary
I’m running into a “Uh-oh! Unable to provision site.” error when creating a new site.
It’s my first time trying to use Local (previously I have used MAMP).
I’m trying to connect Local to host a site in an existing Git repository on my local machine.
Troubleshooting Questions
- Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
Just the one so far. But this is also my first experience.
- Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
Yes, tried this and it worked.
Replication
Create a new site
Enter name, open advanced options. Set “local site path” to my existing Git repo on my local machine. Click “continue”.
Local seems unresponsive. Click “continue” a few more times. Wait. Eventually, see a warning about overwriting files. Accept it.
(there may be a step or two after this - can’t reproduce it right now - just stalling when I click continue and doesn’t seem to show the warning or anything - stuck on that screen)
System Details
-
Which version of Local is being used?
6.1.5+5536 -
What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?
Mac OS 10.15.7 -

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
