Unable to Connect to WP Engine using Local on Windows 10

I’m running Local v5.4.2 on Windows 10 with firewall exclusions established for the Local process. When I attempt to set up a connection with WP Engine, having run through the process of creating API credentials as outlined here, I receive the error message “Error: Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes”.

This same error is shown if I hit the “Login to WP Engine” button with no credentials entered or if I only omit the password.

I have checked the Local log file and there is nothing being reported that aligns with the login attempts.

I have attempted to reinstall Local a number of times, restarting the computer between attempts, and receive the same error message every time. Running Local with administrator permissions doesn’t seem to make a difference either. I also deleted and created a fresh set of API credentials on the WP Engine side to rule that out as being an issue.

Any ideas as to what may be causing the error? I’m not sure how to proceed due to a lack of clear error messaging.
