Unable to install Local past "Host Machine" config

Hi,

I am trying to install Local on PC running Windows 10, once the configuration reached the “Host Machine” I got an error message saying the following:

Error with pre-create check: “This computer doesn’t have VT-X/AMD-v enabled. Enabling it in the BIOS is mandatory”

Any help is much appreciated as I have been hearing lots or great things about Local!

Hi Clay,

This looks it will fix the issues but my PC in general now wont let me edit the setting… That is a job for the local windows technician, once installed I will check back in.

Hello again Clay,

I thought it might be worth getting back to you again as I have rectified the issue on my machine, 2 monitors and BIOS settings on Windows did not go well together. I had to disable and disconnect one of the monitors as the graphics card required to power two monitors was not being loaded in the BIOS settings screen, so I was told, but I truly wouldn’t know either way.

Good news is all looks well and Local by Flywheel is running as expected now!

I am at my witts end. I’ve been through uninstallation and reinstation and I just can’t get Local running on MacOS 10.13.1. I think VirtualBox is the culprit but I can’t get it to open.

Hey gaulltimothy,

Our new Local v5 (and later) doesn’t require VirtualBox :tada: which means it’s way more reliable and faster to startup.
