Unable to Log in to site on Local

Hi,

I am unable to log in to the WP Admin of the backup of the site that is on local.

Initially I couldn’t recall the password, but have updated it in the database. That hasn’t worked.

If anyone can help, I’d be very grateful.

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Thank you. I have tried resetting the password in the database and terminal. Both unsuccessful.

Any other advice please?

Are you getting a specific error message or error when you try to log in? If there is a security or user management plugin that is blocking your access you could try disabling all plugins via CLI.

wp plugin deactivate --all

Or you could try creating a completely new admin user as well:

wp user create username email@email.com --role=administrator --user_pass=password
