Unable to provision sites on Ubuntu 20.04

Getting the following error when trying to provision a new site. using preferred settings. (MySQL 8). The site won’t even provision correctly when using PHP 7.4.1. It seems to be working when select older versions of PHP and MySQL.

tried to reset the settings and deleting and reinstalling the app, but still running into the same issue. not able to start the SQL service when using version 8

also attaching the log files if needed more info local-lightning.log (168.1 KB)

Not sure it’s happening on my end only or a widespread issue.
