Using Local on two different computers

I have searched on this forum with no or little luck and was wondering if others have ran across this.. I have a home PC and a MAC laptop. I was wondering if there is any way to sync both.

The work-around I have found was that I have to export each time I make changes on one computer to upload to the other. Wish there was a way to sync blueprints to your account so when you log in you have access to your blueprints and upload via a blueprint.

Thoughts?

Thanks for your question, @justdavis83!

Local 10 (out now) has a new backups feature that lets you share snapshots of sites and restore them on any machine:

  1. Make sure you’re running Local 10 or higher.
  2. Connect to Dropbox or Google Drive via Settings → Connected accounts → Cloud storage.
  3. Create a site on one machine and back it up from the “backups” tab.
  4. On your other machine, connect to the same Dropbox or Google Cloud account, then visit the Connect tab, find the backup you just made in the list, and choose ‘create site from backup’.
  5. The same site is now on both machines. When you need to sync, create a fresh backup of that site on one machine, then refresh the list of backups for the site on the other machine and use the ‘restore’ option to restore the site to the backup you made.

You can also use backups as a syncable alternative to blueprints if needed. (Create a site, set it up with the themes, plugins and content that you need, make a backup of it, and optionally delete the site from Local — the backup you created will still exist. Whenever you need to make a new site from that backup, use the ‘create site from backup’ option from the Connect page as shown above. Best to give it a name or description that makes it easy to find.)
