Very slow initial connection time on 127.0.0.1

Issue Summary

Hi! I installed Local v6.0.0+5444 on my Windows 10 machine to replace the XAMPP platform I had been using for years. I really like it. My problem is that the DNS resolution or initial connection is very slow. Sometimes 5 seconds or longer. Once the initial connection is established, it is very fast.

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular? All sites

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser? Yes

Replication

This is for any WordPress install I create. The initial response is slow on any site I create, big or small. It is faster if I develop on my Cloudways server, which kind of defeats the purpose of developing locally.

Here is the contents of my ‘hosts’ file:
127.0.0.1 localhost

I have also cleared and reset all network connections, and disabled any I wasn’t using.
