WARNING missing host entry

What issue or error are you experiencing? WARNING missing host entry.

I have been struggling to move my site from LOCAL to Flywheel, it won’t recognize the new hosting I purchased and when I try to create a new site it only gives me the option of hosting with WP engine. I already paid for the flywheel site. I thought it might be because the practice site that I want to use for real had a different domain name. so I tried to change the name and everything disappeared.

Local is needing an admin name and password and the college that I work for are control freaks and won’t give me access, which is beyond frustrating. I changed the domain name back but it is still needing admin privileges. My question is will my site come back when I am finally able to enter the password?

The most immediate issue is getting my site back, but I’m still not understanding why I havent been able to push the site to flywheel.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @cynthia.harrison

You’ll need the admin name and password for the device in order to make updates or changes to the domain, or utilize things like HTTPS. You could try changing the Router Mode to get around some of that. Preferences>Advanced>Router Mode>Localhost

If you’re still unable to push the site to Flywheel, you can try using their free migration plugin as a workaround: Flywheel | Migrate your site to Flywheel using the WP Engine Site Migration Plugin

You also have access to your site files anytime, so you can export those and manually upload them to Flywheel. Import/Export a WordPress Site - Local
