I’m on Windows 7. The first beta, a while back, wouldn’t even install. Tonite I thought I’d try again as you may have updated the app. and it looks like you did This thing actually installed. Got to the bit where a site is created and it halted as it needed admin access to change the hosts file. Clicked the “Fix it” button a few times no luck.
Had a look in the log and found it wanted to put ‘192.168.75.100 localsite.dev’ in the host file, so I did it manually and now have a working Wordpress installation
So, any ideas on how to fix it properly as I don’t want to manually edit the host file every time I add a new site?
Enter and run "C:\Users\Clive\AppData\Local\Programs\local-by-flywheel\resources\extraResources\node\node-windows.exe" "C:\Users\Clive\AppData\Local\Programs\local-by-flywheel\resources\app.asar.unpacked\main\provisioning\update-hosts.js" 192.168.75.100 localsite.dev
thx Clay, here’s the result:
Updated hosts file at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
I don’t know if this is relevant but in the past I have been using Mamp and updating both hosts and httpd-vhosts.conf so that I could use somedomain.dev instead of localhost to access my development sites.
